Tardigrades, also known as water bears, are real-world microscopic creatures renowned for their extreme resilience in surviving extreme conditions such as intense heat, freezing temperatures, radiation, immense pressures and even the vacuum of space. Their unique ability to enter a cryptobiotic state allows them to suspend biological activity and endure environments that would be fatal to most other life forms.
